A Pasco firm was chosen Monday as the contractor for Walla Walla County's Reser Road project.
Culbert Construction was hired to improve Reser Road from Howard to Fern streets. Construction is expected to begin Aug. 9.
The project will widen the road to 40 feet and include sidewalk, sign, bridge, fence and bike lane improvements. Walla Walla County expects work to continue through November, then resume next summer to complete the Yellowhawk Bridge phase.
Walla Walla County received $330,000 from the state Department of Transportation Safe Routes to Schools grant program and $200,000 from the Transportation Improvement Board to help pay for the $2.2 million project
