Residents using the Sun Harbor Water District #3 Water System near Burbank are being told to boil their water after E. coli bacteria were found.
The water district is a few miles east of Burbank and north of Highway 124 and serves about 82 households and 187 individuals.
Users of the water system were being notified house by house Friday and given information on how they can remain safe until the water system is tested free of coliform bacteria. The water is not expected to be safe for several days.
Further testing of the system's water is ongoing at the Walla Walla County Health Department. The Walla Walla County Health Department has not received any reports of anyone getting sick because of the contamination.
