PROSSER -- The Prosser School Board did not discuss whether to strip its schools of their full-time librarians this week, said board President Kay Brader.
A few public comments on the issue were made during the meeting, but the board reserved all discussion and action for its next meeting.
The district will hold a public hearing on the 2011-12 budget at 6 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a regular board meeting at 7 p.m.
The board will vote on the budget proposal during that meeting.
Never miss a local story.
The district's proposed budget would cut the five positions down to one librarian for the district, supported by five library assistants.
The proposal would keep the district from dipping further into its reserves, Superintendent Ray Tolcacher has said.
The hearing and board meeting will be at Keene-Riverview Elementary School at 832 Park Ave.
