A new Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen has been crowned.
Janae Calaway, 16, of Pasco, was chosen from nine contestants Friday night at Kennewick High School's Art Fuller Auditorium.
Tayler Plunkett, 14, of Kennewick, was picked as first runner-up; Lindsay Bullock, 15, of Richland, was second runner-up; Jadelyn Breier, 15, of Pasco, was third runner-up; and Wynteria Lyons, 16, of Kennewick, was fourth runner-up.
Performing at the event was last year's winner, Nicole Renard, who recently was crowed Miss Washington Outstanding Teen.
Other contestants were Kimberly Lambert, 16, of Kennewick; Jordan Macebon, 14, of Kennewick; Kaylee McClure, 15, of Kennewick; and Kara Schmidt, 14, of Pasco.
Following on the heels of the Miss Oustanding Teen event is the crowning of Miss Tri-Cities, which will happen tonight at Kennewick High School's Art Fuller Auditorium.
Each of the Tri-Cities will be represented in the field of nine women who will compete to be the replacement for Adrienne Bousquet, who will perform today.
The contestants are Katie Lee Bair, 17, of Pasco; Shanice Butts, 18, of Pasco; Courtney Campbell, 18 of Pasco; Ashley Davis, 18, of Pasco; Kailee Dunn, 19, of Kennewick; Star Hinojosa, 18, of Kennewick; Alexandra Jackson, 20, of Kennewick; Sarah Miley, 22, of Richland; and Rebecca Spaniel, 21, of Kennewick.
It is an official preliminary to the Miss Washington pageant.
