A black Ford Ranger pickup driven by an older man rammed into the back of a parked semi-truck trailer full of PVC piping Tuesday evening in Kennewick.
The pickup became partially wedged under the trailer on West Second Avenue and had to be yanked out by a tow truck.
The driver of the pickup was taken to Kennewick General Hospital for chest pains, said Kennewick police Officer Chris Bennett. The driver's name and condition were not available.
The trailer was one of two hooked to a semi-truck owned by Openroad Trucking of Dallas, Ore. The driver, Cory Ottum of Dallas, Ore., was inside a nearby apartment visiting with his daughter and granddaughter when the accident happened.
