Thunderstorms are possible in the Mid-Columbia after 11 a.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
It's predicting a rainy weekend in the Tri-Cities, with a 70 percent chance of rain today. Rainfall should be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, unless thunderstorms bring heavier precipitation.
Tonight the chance of rain increases to 90 percent, with thundershowers still possible. The chance of rain Sunday is 80 percent.
The rain will cause streams and rivers to rise, including the Yakima River. It's projected to crest at about 12.3 feet Tuesday afternoon.
