HERMISTON -- The Hermiston Public Library will be upgrading Monday its computer software used to operate the library catalog, check out books and other library materials and interface with the library database.
The library will remain open using standalone software which will allow patrons to check out materials while the Evergreen servers are offline.
During the upgrade, the web catalog will be unavailable. Library2Go access also will be disrupted since it uses the Evergreen system to authenticate users.
A news release from the library said officials "apologize for the inconvenience this will cause but this upgrade is necessary as it offers significant improvements to system operation."
Never miss a local story.
