Quick response by the Kennewick Fire Department left a mobile home that caught fire about 11:30 a.m. Friday still standing.
No one was home at at 3324 W. 19th Ave. No. 172 when the fire was reported.
The home was closed tight, which may have caused all the air inside to be used up, said Gregg Couch, battalion chief. Firefighters set up a fan at the front door and then opened the back door, blowing the heat, smoke and gas out the back. Then they followed with a hose in the front.
"The guys there did an extremely good job," Couch said.
The mobile home had smoke damage throughout and heavy heat damage in the kitchen and dining room. The cause is under investigation.
