West Richland's Ty's Bar and Grill is holding a poker run and barbecue fundraiser to help a Tri-City area family afford care for a teen who has cancer.
A motorcycle poker run will start from Ty's, 3880 W. Van Giesen St., at noon today.
The eighth annual charity event will benefit Alex Keck, 15, of Richland, who has stage 4 liver cancer, said Laurie Winchel, Ty's Bar and Grill assistant manager. All of the proceeds will go to his family for their expenses.
The drive also is being held in memory of Joel Vance, a member of the Tri-Cities HOG Chapter who died after a motorcycle accident in February, Winchel said.
Never miss a local story.
The winner will receive a full barbecue set donated by Alaskan Brewing Company and Columbia Distributing.
The barbecue starts around 2 p.m. and includes a motorcycle rodeo and raffles, Winchel said. It's $5 per person for the barbecue and $20 for the poker run. Those who attend need to be older than 21.
