Drivers should expect 10- to 15-minute delays at the intersection of Leslie Road and Clearwater Avenue beginning Monday and continuing for six weeks.
During this time, crews will grind and remove the existing asphalt, prepare the roadway and install a roundabout at the intersection. The grinding will result in an uneven surface and gravel on the roadway during construction of the new intersection. Flaggers will be in place to control traffic.
Improvements to the intersection are part of a joint project including Kennewick, Benton County and city of Richland.
In early May, the project will necessitate a complete closure of Leslie Road from its intersection with Clearwater north across the railroad tracks for three days. The city will provide specific dates in advance of the closure.
