Kennewick's municipal Columbia Park Golf Course reopened Tuesday.
Greens fees for the 18-hole public course are about the same -- a little more on weekdays but less on weekends -- said Christina Palmer, the city's director of project management.
The course, which had been closed since November, is under new management by CourseCo Inc. of Petaluma, Calif., which also has a contract to manage Richland's Columbia Point Golf Course.
Having the same company for both golf courses will allow sharing of equipment, staff and resources, Palmer said. The partnership also will bring operational efficiencies and cost savings for both courses.
Another benefit with the new management is expanded programs. The First Tee, a junior development program that teaches youth life skills and core values through golf, will be headquartered at Columbia Park Golf Course.
The program's first golf marathon is scheduled for March 28. Information is at firstteecolumbiabasin.org or by calling the clubhouse at 544-8467.
A formal grand reopening for the course is planned for April 1-3.
