Higher education faculty are invited to learn how to support students who are veterans at a Washington State University Tri-Cities seminar at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The seminar is designed for higher education faculty and staff who find that more of their students have a military background and might have unique needs as they adjust to civilian life and an academic setting.
At WSU Tri-Cities, 10 percent of students are veterans.
The seminar will be led by Peter Schmidt, senior associate dean for student success and retention at Edmonds Community College and a contractor for the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs.
The lecture and panel discussion will be in the West Building, Room 243, at 2710 Crimson Way, Richland.
It will last about two hours. Admission is free.
Students also are welcome to attend.
