A five-car wreck early Friday morning on westbound Interstate 82 near Prosser sent a Prosser woman and her two children to hospitals.
A 2009 Toyota Yaris driven by Christine Kim, 17, of Prosser, went into a guardrail after hitting ice, crossing two lanes of traffic, causing the driver of a 2003 Jeep Cherokee to swerve, lose control and also hit the guardrail.
The Jeep ended up rolling backward into the traffic lane and was hit by a westbound 2006 International semi-truck driven by Benjamin Brown, 29, of Umatilla.
The Jeep's driver, Sarah Bussey, 29, of Prosser, and two children, Ian Wesselius, 10, and Makenna Bussey, 6, were injured. A third child in the Jeep, Riley Bussey, 5, was unhurt.
Bussey and Wesselius were taken to Prosser Memorial Hospital, where they were treated and released. Makenna Bussey was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, where she was reported in satisfactory condition.
A westbound 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by Christian Cook, 30, of Pasco, slowed to avoid the wreckage and was struck in the rear by another 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by Christine Garcia, 35, of Pasco.
No one in those vehicles was hurt.
