BOARDMAN -- Columbia River Community Health Services in Boardman will receive a $2.4 million grant for a new medical clinic to serve Morrow County residents.
Officials expect to break ground on the 15,000-square-foot clinic next March.
The money comes as part of a program awarding $727 million to 143 community health centers nationwide under the Affordable Care Act.
The Boardman clinic is one of seven recipients in Oregon.
Never miss a local story.
"Our new clinic will bring life-saving upgrades and services that will benefit all of Boardman, Port of Morrow and the surrounding Morrow County area," said Executive Director Mindy Bender. "We can't wait to welcome our first patient in our new building."
Bender said Columbia River Community Health Services had more than 12,000 patients in 2009, including growing needs by the Port of Morrow for occupational health services.
