WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla City Council will hold public presentations on development of the city's 2011-12 budget next week.
The presentations will provide background and outline strategies for balancing the city's budget for the next two years. Revenue shortfalls caused by the recession have to be offset by major reductions in expenses.
City officials say those reductions will mean reducing or eliminating programs and could require staff layoffs.
The presentations will be:

-- Thursday -- 7 p.m. at Fire Station No. 2, 170 N. Wilbur St.
