A motorcycle rider was injured in a collision Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly failed to follow directions in the Steptoe Street roundabout off Highway 240.
The Washington State Patrol reported that at 3:55 p.m., Jack A. Irwin, 52, of Kennewick, was driving in the outside lane where signs and striping indicate drivers can only exit to Steptoe.
Irwin allegedly tried to continue through the roundabout despite the signs and was struck by a 2010 Hyundai SUV driven by Richard L. Goldberg, 72, of Richland, who was driving in the inside lane.
Irwin, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center and later released. Goldberg was not injured.
