A Montana man is recovering at a Richland hospital after he was thrown from his truck in a rollover crash Monday night, officials said.
Initial reports indicated James Ostrom was seriously injured after he crashed his truck on Locust Grove Road near Edwards Road around 6:30 p.m., and someone was performing CPR while 911 was called, Benton County sheriff's officials said.
When medics arrived, Ostrom had been resuscitated, and he was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
Ostrom had improved to satisfactory condition by Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.
Sheriff's investigators determined the cause of the crash was driver inattention, Lt. Clay Vannoy said. The truck crashed when Ostrom overcorrected after drifting off the road, he said.
Ostrom was not wearing his seat belt.
