A 30-year-old Montana man was hurt Monday after he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and his pickup truck rolled on Highway 12 near Pomeroy.
David K. Hellyer of Missoula was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, after the 5 a.m. wreck, the Washington State Patrol said. He was treated at the hospital and later released.
Troopers said Hellyer was headed west on the highway seven miles outside Pomeroy when his 2001 Ford Ranger pickup ran off the road. He reportedly overcorrected and the truck rolled once, coming to rest on its wheels. The state patrol said he was wearing his seat belt.
