KENNEWICK -- Officials with Domestic Violence Services of Benton & Franklin Counties are warning Tri-City residents about a group allegedly collecting money for their agency.
Kelly Abken, director of DVS, said she learned last week that people with a group called Project Reach were outside the Kennewick Walmart collecting donations.
Abken said the group is not raising money for the Tri-City agency, and she's filed a police report.
"We are in no way affiliated with this group," she said.
Never miss a local story.
The group has a flier that lists phone numbers of agencies, with DVS at the top, that gives the impression that DVS is working with them.
Anyone wanting to help Domestic Violence Services can contact the agency directly at 509-735-1295.
