A 38-year-old man was injured Sunday afternoon when his SUV rolled on Interstate 182 in Pasco.
Troy Robert Newell of Kennewick was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
Police and paramedics were dispatched at 3:14 p.m. for reports of a flipped vehicle with the occupant trapped inside. The crash was near the Broadmoor Boulevard exit.
Newell was driving his 1987 Nissan Pathfinder east on 182 when he drove into the median and rolled the SUV onto its top, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Newell was wearing a seat belt.
Troopers say the crash was caused by the Nissan's "wheels off roadway."
The single-car wreck slowed traffic in both directions while authorities removed Newell from the SUV, investigated what happened and cleared debris from the scene.
