December 23, 2017 - Audrina Lopez, 4, pauses while walking through a Kennewick parking lot Friday afternoon to try catching snowflakes that had started falling. She was with her parents Irma and Mike Lopez of Kennewick. “She’s hoping for enough to build a snowman,” said her mother. One to two inches of snow are possible on the ground by Christmas Eve.

December 21, 2017 - Kayaker Jay Scott pulls tangled fishing line from a shoreline tree Wednesday while paddling around the Hood Park Boat Basin in Burbank. The Pendleton resident said he regularly collects and disposes of fishing line during his kayaking trips because he once discovered a tangled up Osprey that had drowned. He also spent time bird watching with his binoculars during his outing.

December 19, 2017 - Pasco School District transportation employees unload one of four buses filled with nonperishable food Monday. The 8,281 pounds of food is more than double last year’s district-wide collection and is part of the fifth annual Fill-the-Bus drive. It will provide about 6,900 meals to be distributed to those in need through 25 partner food banks and meal programs in Benton and Franklin counties, said Jean Tucker of 2nd Harvest.

The team in the Kadlec emergency department held its third annual drive to purchase backpacks, holiday gifts, quilts and other items for local foster kids throughout the year.
