April 15, 2017 - Workers prepare to pull a section of damaged boat docks to shore Friday for demolition. The floating structure at the Pasco Basin was damaged this winter when it was overloaded with ice and snow. Workers are first cutting it into sections about 25 feet long before moving it towards excavators stationed on shore for dismantling. Some materials are being recycled.

April 14, 2017 - Four-year-old Bria Sandoval scrambles to pick up a goody-filled plastic Easter egg Thursday during an egg hunt with classmates from Jak's Garden preschool at the Desert Dunes Park on Cathedral Drive near Road 44 in Pasco. About a dozen youngsters took part in searching for 350 colorful eggs spread out in the city park. Sandoval was accompanied by her grandmother, Bev Garvey of Pasco.

The two-day public sale begins April 14 and offers bedding plants, vegetables, hanging baskets, color bowls and more. This is the last sale in the school's original greenhouse. Voters approved school bond to renovate the Career & Technical Education buildings.

April 12, 2017 - Caleb Mahler, left, and Wes Albright, employees of the Rock Placing Company, place boulders Tuesday morning along the shore of the Columbia River in Richland’s Howard Amon Park. The work is part of a two-week bank stabilization project to reduce erosion and protect existing trees and vegetation along 120 feet of shoreline. A detour, near the community center, is in place for walkers and bicyclists on the river pathway to safely navigate around the work zone and avoid heavy equipment. The 360-foot diesel-powered paddlewheeler American Empress river cruise ship provides a backdrop for the workers.

April 11, 2017 - Flames shoot from the roof of a house Monday at 4510 W. Henry St. in Pasco as a firefighter guides a hose inside the burning home. Fire officials say fire damage was contained to the attic but there is smoke and water damage in the living space of the single story home. No one was injured.

April 9, 2017 - Sean Goudy, fish technicial for the Yakama Nation Fisheries, describes how the Pacific Lamprey was an important food staple for tribal ancestors, who dried its meaty flesh. The agency released 50 adult lamprey at Prosser on Saturday morning, an event that was part ceremonial, part environmental and part educational.

April 9, 2017 - Pasco council members recently approved the sale of 4.9 acres on the southeast corner of 20th Avenue and Argent Road to A-1 Properties LLC of Kennewick. This property, next to future CBC student housing, will be developed in two phases, first dining and retail, and later a hotel. It is expected to support the college and the newly expanded airport.

April 9, 2017 - David Gonzales, an employee of Metalfab Inc. of West Richland, welds on the first steel roof truss being installed Thursday on the first of three new buildings under construction at the Columbia Gardens Wine & Artisan Village on Columbia Drive in Kennewick. The building is to be the future home of Bartholomew Wines of Seattle, according to Port of Kennewick officials. The port anticipates construction on the buildings to be completed in August.
