Highway 24 was closed for a time Tuesday after a Richland driver hit the back of a semi-truck at Highway 240 near the Vernita Bridge.
A black 2002 Toyota Camry and a 2008 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a petroleum trailer were driving east on Highway 24 at 9:15 a.m.
When truck driver Parvez Q. Durrani, 60, of Kennewick, slowed to make a left turn, Bryan J. Magnuson, 22, of Richland, slid into the back of the truck with his Camry, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Magnuson was in satisfactory condition Tuesday afternoon at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, said a Kadlec spokesman.
Never miss a local story.
The WSP cited Magnuson for driving too fast for road conditions.
