-- The Chaplaincy has named Robert Heck the first director of planned giving. Heck will focus on developing a program to encourage donors to consider the Chaplaincy in their estate plans. Heck has served on the organization's endowment committee for two years.
-- The Tri-Cities National Association of Professional Mortgage Women has elected its 2012-13 officers. They are Sue Abken, CME of Arboretum Mortgage, president; Judi A. Clark, Chicago Title, corresponding and recording secretary; Katheryn M. Farrell, retired, treasurer. Directors are Rusann Brooks and Jeannine Stanke, both of Banner Bank. Farrell of Richland also received a lifetime achievement award from the association at a recent educational conference in Atlanta. She managed Chicago Title for 30 years.

-- Diane Call has been elected director of Washington State PTA Region 12. She is responsible for organizing leadership workshops and providing support for councils and local PTAs in the region that includes Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Grant and Walla Walla counties. She also will serve on the WSPTA board of directors.
-- BNSF Railway honored Pasco employees Ward Angelos, Robert Ankney, Rodney Bailey, Barry Gellner, James Labberton, Roy Smith, Terry Stephens, Karl Swinford and Matt Wegner as its 2011 Employees of the Year.
-- Lois M. Kauer, the employee relations team lead for Hanford's Washington River Protection Solutions, has earned certification as a senior professional in human resources. The certification awarded by the HR Certification Institute signifies that Kauer possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating a mastery of the field.
-- Lynda Mong has received the certified aging-in-place specialist designation from the National Association of Home Builders. She is the founder of Architemp, a design and architectural consulting firm in Kennewick. The designation is given to architects will the skills necessary to design or modify a home for the elderly or disabled.
-- Employees from Texas Roadhouse of Kennewick volunteered for Habitat for Humanity building a new home for a family in the Garden Court subdivision in Kennewick on May 22. Texas Roadhouse catered lunch for volunteers.
