The Tooth Taxi, an RV manned by staff who provide dental care to those in need on behalf of the Oregon Dental Association, will visit Sunset Elementary School in Umatilla this week to assist students with dental issues.
The staff will provide dental services from their 38-foot RV including tooth removal, root canals, fillings and sealants, for all students whose parents provide permission. Students will be screened, and those with the most serious conditions will be treated first.
“It will be great to have serious dental issues addressed for this group of students,” said school resource nurse Ramona Trebilcock. “We hope to be able to have this service for other schools in the future.”
