The University of Washington Twin Registry will hold the first annual TwinFest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the University of Washington Husky Union Building, 4001 N.E. Stevens Way in Seattle.
The purpose is to inform the public about the registry and its research in medicine and behavioral science.
Featured speaker is Dr. Joan Friedman, who is not only a twin expert, but also a twin herself and the mother of twins. She will discuss her new book, The Same but Different: How Twins Can Live, Love and Learn to Be Individuals.
Dr. Glen Duncan, director of the registry, will present an overview of the registry and its research.
Twinfest will feature contests, including "most identical-looking twins" and "least similar-looking twins."
A limited number of tickets are still available through Brown Paper Tickets. Go to www.uwtrtwinfest.bpt.mecq for more information.
