KGH offering free bone density screenings Thursday
Kennewick General Hospital is offering free bone density screenings at the Senior Life Show on Thursday at the Three Rivers Convention Center, 7016 W. Grandridge Blvd., Kennewick. The show starts at 10 a.m.
The screenings -- painless procedures that involve placing a bare foot in an ultrasound device called a bone densitometer -- will be guaranteed to the first 40 people to sign up at the KGH booth in the atrium across from the main event entrance, a news release said.
The screenings can reveal early signs of osteoporosis, the release said.
KGH also will offer senior health information at its booth, host the KGH Café with refreshments and provide two interactive on-stage exercise demonstrations with KGH physical therapists, the news release said.
