The Dairy Farmers of Washington and Fred Meyer stores are partnering on this year’s Northwest Farmers Fighting Hunger food and fund drive throughout June. The campaign aims to raise awareness and donations to help Second Harvest feed thousands of children who lack access to enough healthy food during the summer months.
Money raised during the campaign will help Second Harvest secure additional dairy products, fresh produce and other healthy food for neighborhood food pantries, meal centers and the Mobile Food Bank.
These Second Harvest partner agencies provide a safety net for nearly 32,000 children in Benton and Franklin counties who rely on free and reduced-price meals during the school year and are at risk of going hungry when school is out.
People can help by donating online at www.2-harvest.org/nwffh or by making a donation while visiting any Fred Meyer store.
