Kennewick business owners will now use the licensing and renewal system run by the state’s revenue department when registering or renewing business licenses.
The city is the newest of 66 city partners that use the Business Licensing Service, or BLS, a release said. The cities of Richland, West Richland, Prosser and College Place also use the service.
The service offers 400 different licenses, registrations and endorsements from cities and state agencies. Partnering with program means Kennewick businesses that need various local and state permits can pursue both through a single channel.
Businesses in the city limits and currently registered with the state will be sent letters this month notifying them about the change.
