Kennewick-based Meyers Auto Tech took home a gold award from this year’s Mid-Columbia Small Business of the Year Awards ceremony Tuesday night.
More than 400 people attended the awards banquet at Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. Small, locally-owned businesses with fewer than 60 full-time employees are eligible for the awards. Papa John’s Pizza won silver and Paws Natural Pet Emporium in Richland won bronze.
“We had 11 outstanding nominees this year,” said Debbie Bone-Harris, the event’s chairwoman, in a press release. “The judging committee had a tough job and they made marvelous selections.”
The awards aim to recognize small businesses in Benton and Franklin counties that provide great customer service, demonstrate a commitment to their employees and have great community relations. All the nominees were recognized at the event and received framed certificates.
Never miss a local story.
The Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business won the event’s Micro-Business of the Year award. Winning companies must meet the same criteria as for other awards but have fewer than 10 full-time employees.
