-- Diggity Dog has opened for business. The new street vendor plans to offer specialty hot dogs/sausages and drinks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Monday to Thursday, Diggity Dog will be at 3100 George Washington Way in Richland, and on Fridays the vendor can be found at John Dam Plaza, 1815 George Washington Way.
-- Jessica Gaudreault of HAPO Community Credit Union has been promoted to vice president of training. And Don Frigaard has been promoted to vice president of mortgage lending.
Gaudreault has worked at HAPO since 1994. She has played an integral part in the success of HAPO's Teller and Financial Service Specialist Training Programs and has been instrumental in growing the credit union's training and development program, said HAPO officials.
Frigaard has an extensive background in mortgage lending, financial management and business development. He will oversee the mortgage division and coordinate mortgage loan operations
-- Victor R. Scarano has been hired by HPM Corporation as corporate operations manager. He will be responsible for overall corporate and contract operations as well as financial management.
Scarano brings extensive executive-level experience in finance, federal contracting, small business operations, business development and operational leadership.
-- Radio Tri-Cities has promoted Jessica Silinovich-Serrano from senior marketing executive to general sales manager.
Silinovich-Serrano will focus on overseeing, training and mentoring new and existing sales staff while continuing to provide exemplary customer service to local businesses.
-- Karen Wiemelt has been named the Soil and Groundwater Remediation Project vice president for CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. at Hanford. She starts work at Hanford on Sept. 15. Mark Cherry has been acting vice president since the retirement of Bob Popielarczyk. Wiemelt now is CH2M Hill senior vice president of nuclear global business development. She has 25 years of experience in environmental engineering, project management and nuclear operations.
-- Ashley Steffen with Fulcrum Environmental Consulting recently became an Underground Storage Tank (UST) Site Assessor and Decommissioner. Steffon's UST certification allows her to assess site soils for potential contamination and oversee UST removal.
-- Banner Corp., the holding company of Banner Bank and Islanders Bank, was recently included on a list of the 50 Most Trustworthy Financial Companies by Forbes. Banner was the only company headquartered in the Northwest to be included on the list.
-- The Society for Human Resource Management, or SHRM, has awarded the Columbia Basin Chapter the EXCEL Gold Award.
The award is part of the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence, which aligns individual chapters with SHRM. The award recognizes a chapter's accomplishments and strategic activities and initiatives that promote the human resources profession at the local level.
The Columbia Basin Chapter will be recognized in SHRM publications and at SHRM conferences. As an Excel winner, it receives a certificate of recognition and a special banner to display at its meetings and events.
The nonprofit professional organization provides human resource professionals the opportunity to network, receive training and enhance their knowledge and experience in the complex world of human resource management.
-- Barbi Hawkins of Kennewick has been elected to the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Board of Trustees.
She is a community volunteer in Kennewick and has spent most of her professional career working with the Kadlec Foundation. She became a Make-A-Wish wish granting volunteer in 2013 and has helped grant almost a dozen wishes to children in the Tri-City area with life-threatening medical conditions.
-- SIGN Fracture Care International's board of directors elected Joel Gillard to serve on the humanitarian aid organization's 11-member board.
Gillard is the general manager of Portland-based Acute Innovations, a company specializing in implants and medical instruments to help surgeons with challenging chest-area procedures. He is a mechanical engineer with expertise in medical device design, development and testing.
He has provided his professional services in many areas related to research, design and testing. He also has traveled on humanitarian missions supporting orthopedic treatments for trauma victims in the South Sudan, Myanmar and Cambodia with SIGN founder, Dr. Lewis Zirkle.
