WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla County Extension will hold its annual tour of the WSU Legume and Cereal Grains variety plots at 3 p.m. June 25.
The tour begins on Dwelley Jones' farm at 3053 Russell Creek Road.
Rebecca McGee, legume breeder and member of the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service Grain Legume Genetics and Pathology Unit in Pullman, will coordinate the plots.
At 5 p.m., a meal sponsored by Walla Walla Crop Improvement will be served at the Walla Walla Regional Airport meeting room. Anyone attending a tour is welcome and encouraged to RSVP.
The winter wheat variety plot tour begins at 6:30 p.m. at 1442 Martin Road on Jason Beechinor's farm.
At 7:30 p.m. the group will be given the option to travel to the spring wheat and barley variety plots at 96 Dewitt Road in Waitsburg.
