After four years on Kennewick Avenue, Amy's Bridal Boutique is moving to Richland.
On Sunday, Amy Morris and her assistants moved several hundred flounced, embellished and long, poofy gowns to the new shop at 2158 Keene Road.
"It wasn't fun doing that in the wind. Every gown felt like it was going to sail away," she said.
The Kennewick store is closed and she'll reopen in her new location at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
The new shop is a bit larger and much more elegant than the one in Kennewick, she said.
"We have hardwood floors, an entire mirrored wall and chandeliers in each of the dressing rooms," she said.
Morris and her husband, Ryan, opened Amy's Bridal Boutique in December 2010 shortly after their wedding.
"Planning my wedding, I discovered I loved everything bridal and thought the Tri-Cities really needed a shop dedicated to giving brides a one-on-one, personal experience," Morris said.
At the Kennewick location she carried a line of prom and quinceanera dresses but she will not have them in the Richland shop. Morris said she's going to narrow her focus to all things bridal.
"I want to concentrate on gowns and tuxedos for brides and their bridal party, including dresses for the mothers and flower girls," she said.
Morris focuses on gowns from her favorite designers: Maggie Sottero, Allure Romance, Sottero and Midgley, Venus Bridal and Bella Bridemaids.
Morris also carries some handmade jewelry and accessories, including petticoats, veils, garters, shoes and longline bras, an essential undergarment for some gowns.
Amy's Bridal Boutique will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays and from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Thursdays.
Beginning some time in June, she'll also be open from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays as well.
