A new Yoke's Fresh Market store will open in south Richland next week featuring all-new decor and a drive-through pharmacy.
It will be the 13th store for the employee-owned, Spokane-based chain and is expected to open Oct. 2 at 455 Englewood Drive, where it intersects with Keene Road.
The new store will look familiar to those who shop at the Pasco, Kennewick and West Richland stores, yet it will feature some new "wrinkles in the decor package," said Joe Hanson, senior vice president of operations for the grocery chain.
Hanson said the decor will be more modern in design, especially in the deli and restaurant area.
Never miss a local story.
"It has all reclaimed woods, bricks and metals. There are no new fabricated decor elements, which makes it unique among the Yoke's stores," he said.
Hanson said as it comes time to remodel the chain's other stores, they will all get the new look.
The first Yoke's Fresh Market opened in 1946, and Hanson said "we've learned a few things about decor and layout along the way. It's been an evolution."
The Richland store also has the chain's first drive-through pharmacy.
"It's a fantastic store, and the layout is beautiful. It'll be a fun place to shop," he said.
The Richland store is 5,300 square feet and will employee about 140 people.
Steve Beckman, who was manager of the Kennewick store, will run the Richland Yoke's Fresh Market.
Darrell Toombs, manager of the West Richland store, has moved to Kennewick, and Sheldon Cragun, assistant manager of the Pasco store, has been promoted and will manage the West Richland store.
The new store will be open from 5 a.m. to midnight. The phone number is 491-3336.
The pharmacy hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The pharmacy phone is 491-3339.
