The Tri-City housing market is one of eight Washington metropolitan areas to make it onto the National Association of Home Builders' list of improving housing markets for September.
The recently released list of 291 metropolitan areas also includes Bellingham, Longview, Mount Vernon, Olympia, Seattle, Spokane and Wenatchee.
The Tri-Cities has seen building permits rise 1.3 percent since March 2009 and housing prices grow by 7.8 percent from February 2012, according to a news release. Employment has grown by 7.9 percent since December 2007.
To make it onto the list, metropolitan areas must show improvement for at least six consecutive months.
