CH2M Hill, a prime Department of Energy contractor at Hanford, has been named to the 2013 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list.
Surveyed employees gave CH2M Hill its highest mark in the categories of pride and camaraderie.
Almost 260 firms and more than 277,000 of their employees participated in this year's survey conducted for Fortune by the Great Place to Work Institute.
Two-thirds of a company's score is based on a survey of a random sample of employees about management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The other third is based on pay, benefits, recognition programs and other company policies.
CH2M Hill employs 2,200 workers in the Tri-Cities working for CH2M Hill Tri-City Area and CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. It has a $5.8 billion five-year contract for cleanup of central Hanford and contaminated groundwater.
The award comes during contentious negotiations with the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council.
