The Washington State Wine Commission honored 14 businesses and individuals Monday for their work in marketing the state's wines locally and nationally.
The awards were given out at the Washington State Wine Awards at McCaw Hall in Seattle. This is the first time the Wine Commission has given awards to businesses other than restaurants.
Spokane-based Yoke's Fresh Markets, with three locations in the Tri-Cities, was named Retailer Group of the Year.
Receiving Grand Awards were Anthony's at Columbia Point in Richland; The Marc and the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center, both Walla Walla; the Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau in Kennewick and the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Tuscany Downtown, a Prosser restaurant, received an Award of Distinction.
Visconti's in Wenatchee was named Restaurant of the Year, and Doug Charles, owner of Compass Wines store in Anacortes, received the Walter Clore Honorarium.
