Four ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston plants have earned Energy Star certification from the Environmental Protection Agency for achieving best-in-class performance, according to a news release.
Lamb Weston plants in Richland, Quincy, Boardman and Park Rapids, Minn., received Energy Star re-certification for 2012.
"Lamb Weston employees are constantly on the lookout for new ways to operate sustainably and lessen our impact on the environment," said Rick Martin, vice president of global operations for ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston.
Frozen potato product manufacturer Lamb Weston has seven plants in the Columbia Basin. Each year, those plants process 11 billion potatoes from Columbia Basin fields. That's enough potatoes to fill 350 football fields 6 feet deep.
