Wines from Kestrel Vintners in Prosser and Reininger Winery in Walla Walla now are being sold online in China.
Transnational Ventures, a wine export and marketing company based in Port Townsend, recently announced that it is the exclusive broker in China for the two Mid-Columbia wineries.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to sell Washington wine in China," said J.J. Compeau, general manager of Kestrel Vintners.
Transnational Ventures is partnering with GTC Commerce of Shanghai, which operates UniEClub.com, a site that markets to consumers in eastern China.
Jonathan Ryweck of TVI said he will be featuring Kestrel and Reininger's Helix label at Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival on Nov. 1-4.
"This show is truly amazing," Ryweck said. "Last year, attendance was 163,000 people over four days. It is a great way to expose literally thousands of wine consumers to Washington state wines."
Ryweck's portfolio includes several from Seattle-based Precept Wines. There is the Washington label Pine & Post and its newly acquired Idaho brand, Ste. Chapelle, which exports its off-dry Soft White.
