KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick City Councilman Bob Olson recently was appointed to the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board by Secretary of Transportation Paula Hammond.
The board awards grants for transportation projects to cities and urban counties from revenue generated by three cents of the state fuel tax.
Olson has been a Kennewick city councilman since 1988. He is a longtime member of the Washington State Good Roads and the Benton-Franklin-Walla Walla Good Roads and Transportation Association. He previously chaired the Benton Franklin Council of Governments and the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
