Adams and Grant county financial institutions and social service agencies can learn more about financial access initiatives aimed at connecting consumers who don't use banks to mainstream financial services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 12 at WorkSource Moses Lake.
Washington, through the leadership of the Washington Asset Building Coalition, is developing a standardized statewide Bank On program to provide low-income un- and underbanked residents with free or low-cost starter or "second chance" bank accounts and access to traditional financial services are springing up nationwide.
The underbanked have at least one checking or savings account, but also use alternative financial services such as non-bank money orders, check cashing services, or loans.
