RICHLAND -- Representatives from the Sellafield nuclear site in Cheshire, England, plan to visit the Columbia Generating Station near Richland on Wednesday to learn more about the accreditation process for training programs.
It also visited the plant April 18 and had a tour schedule of the Nuclear Technology Program at Columbia Basin College
The Sellafield team is building training programs to support its site's 20 nuclear-related facilities, which employ about 10,000 people.
Sellafield's goal is to have its training programs accredited by the National Nuclear Accrediting Board within five years.
The board renewed accreditation for Energy Northwest's maintenance and technical training programs for the Richland plant last year.
