Ted Bowyer, who has been appointed to the National Academy of Sciences Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty Panel, will speak at a meeting of the Eastern Washington Section of the American Nuclear Society on Oct. 18.
The treaty bans all nuclear explosions for military or civilian purposes. Bowyer is a nuclear explosion monitoring expert at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland and a former Department of Energy scientific adviser on the treaty.
