Veteran journalist Kristina Lord was named city editor of the Tri-City Herald on Thursday.
The announcement came two weeks after longtime City Editor Laurie Williams was promoted to executive editor.
Lord, 40, has been assistant city editor at the Herald since April 2004. She was a Herald reporter for five years and previously worked as editor of the Prosser Record-Bulletin and as a reporter at the Nisqually Valley News.
Lord serves as secretary/treasurer of the William O. Douglas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She's served on the board since 2004, holding several positions over the years.
