There are shows for builders and remodelers, landscapers and gardeners, outdoors men and hunters. Now there is one showcasing the services, products and activitiesthat make living in the Tri-Cities better, more comfortable or fun -- the Home & Lifestyles Expo on Aug. 5-7.
Jeff Losey, executive director of the Home Builders Association of Tri-Cities, said "for the past several years, we've had exhibitors and consumers alike asking us to do a show in the fall. We've also had to turn away many potential exhibitors (at the February Home & Garden) show that didn't quite fit into the 'home' or 'garden' field."
And that show is so full with spaces being sold out every year, said Esther Hartshorn, director of member services for the HBA.
The expo will be at TRAC in Pasco. So far, 47 exhibitors are signed up with 72 booth spaces sold.
Never miss a local story.
"Pretty good for the first year," Hartshorn said. "We tried to do a Home & Lifestyles Expo last year but didn't get enough vendors. Many were already signed up for one or more of the fairs. So this year we set the date earlier."
The expo will feature a mix of health care providers, financial advisers, vendors selling home decor items and some gardening products.
Riverview Health Screening will be doing a body mass indexing, weight checks and other screenings, Absolute Cabinets from Sunnyside will be there, Pasco Specialty Kitchens will have products from the people who use the kitchen and Tastefully Simple will have its boxed breads, puddings and dips.
"We'll also have the big guys motor sports. Bush Motors will have BMWs, Sundown Marine their boats and McCurley is bringing in some special cars as well," she said.
The show runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 5; from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 6; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7.
Admission is $4 and free for children under 12 years. Take a nonperishable food donation for Second Harvest Tri-Cities and you will receive $2 off the price of admission.
Health, decor and home improvement seminars are included in the price of admission.
