PROSSER -- Washington State University and the Washington State Grape Society invite grape growers and other wine industry personnel to attend the Viticulture & Enology Field Day on Aug. 12 in Prosser.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Irrigated Agriculture Research & Extension Center, 24106 N. Bunn Road in Prosser.
Among the points of interest in the morning will be minimally pruned vineyards at Olsen Brothers Ranches, grafting at Boushey Vineyards and a tour of FruitSmart in Grandview.
The afternoon program includes by presentations by Gerritt Hoogenboom on AgWeatherNet, soil scientist Joan Davenport on nutrient deficiencies and Markus Keller on berry shrivel.
On-site registration begin at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $5, which includes lunch.
