RICHLAND -- CAST Transportation plans a ribbon cutting and open house at 4:30 p.m. Friday at its new location in Richland.
It has moved from Curie Street to 1020 Battelle Blvd.
The new terminal includes a four-acre equipment yard, a 4,000 square-foot office with shop facilities, a drive-off unloading ramp and 24-hour surveillance.
CAST Transportation provides specialized shipment of radioactive material, including waste and material for use.
It established an office in Richland in 2004 to support Hanford and other customers doing work with radioactive materials. It also has offices in New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee and Colorado.
