Jonathan "JD" Dowell, the acting manager of the Department of Energy Hanford Office of River Protection, has accepted a job at the DOE Hanford Richland Operations Office.
The timing of the transition has not been announced as employees wait to hear who will be named manager of the Office of River Protection. Dave Brockman took the job on a temporary basis in July with the understanding that he would retire in January. Dowell has been filling in since then.
At the Richland Operations Office, Dowell will be assistant manager for central Hanford, the job held by Matt McCormick before he was named manager of the Richland Operations Office in July.
Dowell previously was deputy manager of the Office of River Protection and spent 26 years in the Navy Nuclear Power Program, where he commanded the USS Alabama and the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Center.
