Prosser’s Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center is accepting nominations for the Legends of Washington Wine Hall of Fame.
The hall of fame honors people who have made a lasting impact of more than 25 years on the state wine industry. A new Legend is inducted each year from the nominations the program receives. The honoree can be a winemaker, researcher, educator, philanthropist, journalist or anyone else who has made significant long-term contributions.
The current Legends Hall of Fame includes: S.W. "Bill" Preston, John & Ann Williams, Jim & Pat Holmes, Stan Clarke, John N. Anderson, David Lake, M.W., Bill Powers, Dr. Myles J. Anderson, George Carter, Mike Hogue and Allen Shoup. A bronze plaque honoring each inductee is on display at the center.
Nominations are due no later than Dec. 22 and this year’s winner will be chosen by Jan. 9. For the nomination materials, go to www.theclorecenter.org/events1/legends.
The Legends celebration is planned for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the center. The event will include a social hour on the patio and in the tasting room and a three-course dinner. The program for the evening will include the induction of newest Legend. A live auction will follow. All proceeds benefit the Prosser center.
Registration and sponsorship details are available on the center’s website or by calling 509-786-1000.
