When you have kids in daycare or preschool you are never quite sure what they are learning.
Sure, there are outlines and topics and curriculum. But the details? You never quite know.
The other day my Canadian friend marveled that her daughter burst into song (as she often does) on the way home with "As I was walking down the river of highway..."
She did figure it out that it was This Land is Your Land.
Never miss a local story.
I giggled about the “river of highway” line and didn’t think much else about it.
But I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised when my son a few days later started singing, "This land is your land, this land is my land, from California to the ostrich island."
